Dublin is full of Beauty

Today I was in the Garden of Remembrance for the first time and it turned out to be, yet again, a case of firsts being special.

As I was leaving, there was a foreign woman struggling to get her pram up the steps. By the time I reached her side, her young daughter had come back down the steps and was trying to support the front of the pram. I asked the mother if she’d like me to help and placed my hand beside the young girl's and we both assisted in getting the pram to the top of the steps.

The young girl was three or four and when we got to the top, she raised her right arm as if to give me a high-five, then decided to wrap her two arms around me while saying, ‘Thank you, thank you.’

She gave me a big hug and I hugged her right back. A beautiful moment that will stay with me, forever. A hug from a stranger that made me feel we are all connected and are all the same.

I love living in Dublin City.
